Home
to the famous fishing schooner Bluenose, Lunenburg celebrated its 250th
birthday in 2003 and the King's Orange Rangers were there to protect the German
settlers as they went ashore at Rouse's Brook. The King's Orange Rangers
are pictured here delivering a volley in response to a threat from enemies on
shore before the settlers are able to land. The vessel is none other than
the Bluenose II, which was used for the re-enactment.
Captain Bethel's Company of the KOR served the Lunenburg area during the early 1780s to protect the town from marauding American Privateers.
