Every year the King's Orange Rangers hold a celebration to honour His Majesty King George 3rd on his birthday, June 4th.  The group assembles at the Nova Scotia Museum's "Perkin House" museum located on main street in Liverpool and marches from the 1760s home, the oldest in the Nova Scotia Museum collection, to Fort Point Lighthouse Park, the site the King's Orange Rangers were posted to in 1778 to protect the town from marauding American Privateers.  With colours flying the group proceeds to the site at the pace of the drummer's beat to a lively tune provided by the group's musicians.  After firing several volleys and the reading of a proclamation the group retires to prepare for our annual Planked Salmon Supper fundraiser, which is usually held on a Saturday evening nearest the fourth of June.
